In a recent online article from UK Vintners PLC has published their best wine list for the 2016 holiday season. This company is known for buying and selling some of the finest wines in the world, says the article. Their group of UK’s finest wine consultants chose five of the best wines that they felt would make the season brighter:
- 2008 Beychevelle
For those who prefer a mellow wine with a touch of fruit, this Saint-Julien appellation wine would fit the bill. The wine consultants say that it has some hints of cranberry and raspberry. They also suggest that the wine be consumed in at least 15 years of its bottling date.
- D’Yquem 2009
This is a dessert wine that was made in the Chateau d’Yquem Winery in Graves, France. It is said to have touches of spice, pears, honey, and apricot in its taste profile. The makers of this fine white wine have been in business for over 400 years, says the article.
- Montrose 1998
Wine consultants in the UK chose this brand as an ideal drink for New Year’s Eve. Montrose 1998 was made in the St.-Estephe region from rich Merlot grapes, says the article. The drink also has pleasant aromas of black cherry and plum.
- Ducru Beaucaillou
UK Vintners’ wine experts recommend a 2005 vintage, since it should have the mature flavors that are enjoyed in a Ducru Beaucaillou, the article says.
- Pichon Baron 1998
This enchanting blend is also made in Bordeaux, France, in the Paullac appellation. Its sweet toasty oak flavor has touches of black currants and charcoal. Pichon Baron is a medium-body wine that is blended with Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon, says the article.
